Construction

Our buildings have been part of New Zealand’s landscape for over 60 years. That’s because we build them to last, with rock-solid framing and construction.

Frames

Skyline frames make buildings long-lasting and resistant to wear and tear.

LVL Treated Stress-Graded Timber

We make our frames with 90mm X 45mm LVL Treated Stress-Graded timber. This is essentially the same as the old 4 x 2 framing timber except it's stronger! . That means it won’t twist or warp after a summer scorcher.

Trusses and studs

Framing studs are at 600 mm centres and with noggings, giving it added strength. In addition, trusses are never more than 1.2m apart. We top that off by using special truss to stud and frame connections. As an extra precaution, all frames are tested and designed to withstand strong winds.

Stud height

If you’re over two metres tall (or want to park something other than a standard car) it might pay to give this section a read.

Standard height

The standard Skyline stud height of 2.1m is perfect if you’re just storing a car, but popular heights also include 2.4m, 2.7m and 3m.

Custom heights

You may want something a bit higher than our standard height to fit the fork lift, boat, truck or F-16. So if you need something a bit different, we can arrange almost anything.
